Canada has one of the largest Indian diasporas in the world, and many families already travel to India regularly. Implant treatment can fit around those visits, at a fraction of Canadian private fees.

Insurance and claims

Coverage for dental treatment abroad varies widely between private plans, and public programmes have their own rules, so check with your insurer or plan administrator before you travel. If your plan does reimburse treatment done outside Canada, it will usually want detailed paperwork. Sterling can provide:

  • An itemised invoice listing each procedure, tooth and date
  • The treatment plan and clinical notes
  • X-rays taken before and after treatment
  • Payment receipts

Flights and timing

Air Canada flies non-stop from Toronto to Delhi in about 16 hours (FlightsFrom). Full-arch cases take two trips: about 7–14 days at Sterling for the implants and a fixed temporary bridge, then about two weeks, 3–6 months later for the final bridge. Single implants usually need two trips too, which many patients time with family visits. Wait at least 72 hours after implant placement before flying, ideally about a week (Felkai et al., 2023).

Visa, aftercare and next steps

Canadian citizens can apply online for India's e-Medical visa (official portal); OCI card holders need none (step-by-step guide). You leave with a full implant record so your Canadian dentist can maintain your implants (details). Start with a virtual consultation for an indicative plan and cost in CAD.
