About the treatment
With a conventional implant, the implant heals under the gum for a few months before a tooth is fitted on it. With a same-day implant, also called immediate loading, a crown is fixed on the implant the day it is placed.
This works when the implant is held firmly in the bone from the start. Depending on your gums and bone, the same-day crown is either a provisional one, shaped to stay clear of heavy biting while the implant bonds with the bone and replaced by the final crown a few months later, or the permanent crown itself.

Implant placement
The implant is placed under local anaesthesia; a failing tooth can often be removed in the same visit.

Same-day crown
A crown is designed and milled with CEREC and fixed on the implant the same day: provisional or permanent, depending on your gums and bone.

Healing
Over the next few months the implant bonds with the bone. Avoid biting hard on the new tooth.

The final crown is made in the in-house lab and fitted.

Same-Day Implant Crown: common questions
Can everyone have a same-day implant?+
No. It depends on the bone holding the implant firmly when it is placed. Your CBCT scan and the surgery itself decide. If same-day loading is not safe, the implant heals first and you still get a temporary tooth.
Is the same-day crown my final tooth?+
It depends on your gums and bone. Often it is a provisional crown that protects the implant while it heals, with the final crown fitted a few months later; when conditions allow, the permanent crown is fitted on the day.
Can I eat normally with it?+
Eat soft food and avoid biting on the new tooth until your dentist confirms the implant has healed.
Does it hurt?+
The implant is placed under local anaesthesia, and sedation is available for anxious patients.
What does it cost?+
