Dental Implants: Delhi vs Dubai. A Guide for NRIs and Expats in the Gulf

Comparing dental implant costs in Dubai and Delhi, and how to fit treatment into annual leave or a trip home, with a flight of about three and a half hours.

By the Sterling Dental Clinic teamPublished 28 September 2026Updated 6 October 2026Clinically reviewed by Dr. Tarun Kumar Giroti, MDS, Dental Council of India reg. A1730, on 6 October 2026

For Indians living in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait or Bahrain, and for Gulf expats of other nationalities, Delhi has one big advantage over Europe or South-East Asia for implant treatment: it is close. A morning flight from Dubai lands in Delhi before lunch.

Fitting treatment into your leave

Emirates flies Dubai to Delhi in about 3 hours 20 minutes (Emirates), and Sterling is 12–13 km from Delhi airport's Terminal 3. That makes short, planned trips realistic:

TreatmentSuggested plan
Single or a few implantsTrip 1 (3–5 days): scan and placement. Trip 2 after healing (2–3 days): final crowns. Both fit into long weekends.
Full arch (All-on-4 / All-on-6)Trip 1 (about 7–14 days, ideal for annual leave or Eid): scan, implants and a fixed temporary bridge. Trip 2 about 3–6 months later (about two weeks): the final bridge.
With a bone graft or sinus liftThe graft is often done with the implant. If the implant has to wait for the graft to heal, it is placed at a later stage: plan that extra trip around a visit home.

Published guidance suggests waiting at least 72 hours after implant placement before flying, ideally about a week, and longer after a sinus lift (Felkai et al., 2023). Build that into your dates.

Visas

Indian passport holders need no visa. OCI card holders need none either (Consulate General of India). UAE nationals, and other nationalities on the list, can apply online for India's e-Medical visa, which the official portal says is valid for a year with multiple entries. Sterling provides the clinic letter the application needs.

Aftercare once you are back in the Gulf

You leave with your implant records: the system and sizes, your X-rays and what was fitted. Sterling uses internationally distributed implant systems, so a dentist in the Gulf can carry out routine check-ups and source parts if needed. For anything that worries you, send photos or an X-ray on WhatsApp and the implant team will review them.

Frequently asked questions

Are dental implants cheaper in Delhi than in Dubai?+

Generally, yes. Published Dubai prices for a single implant with its crown are commonly AED 4,500–8,500. At Sterling in Delhi, a single implant with its crown is ₹55,000–80,000 (implant ₹40,000–60,000 plus crown ₹15,000–20,000), about AED 2,100–3,060 at the rate on 25 Sep 2026.

Can I get implants done during a short trip from the UAE?+

Yes. The flight is about three and a half hours. Single implants usually need two short trips a few months apart; full-arch cases take two trips too: about 7–14 days for the implants and a fixed temporary bridge, then about two weeks, 3–6 months later for the final bridge.

Do I need a visa for treatment in India?+

Not if you hold an Indian passport or an OCI card. UAE nationals can apply online for the e-Medical visa, with a letter from the clinic.

Can my dentist in Dubai maintain implants placed in Delhi?+

Yes. You receive full implant records, and Sterling uses internationally distributed systems, so a Gulf dentist can carry out routine check-ups and source parts if needed.
