All-on-4 vs All-on-6 vs Individual Implants: Which Full-Arch Option Fits You?

How All-on-4, All-on-6 and individual implants differ for a full arch of teeth: what the research shows, who each suits, timelines and costs at Sterling.

If you have lost most or all of your teeth in one jaw, or your remaining teeth cannot be saved, there are three main ways to get fixed teeth back with implants. This guide explains how they differ, so the options feel familiar before your consultation.

What the research shows

Full-arch treatment on four implants is well studied. A 2026 systematic review and meta-analysis of 55 studies reported pooled All-on-4 implant survival of about 99% in the first year and about 98% at five years or more, with mechanical complications (such as a loose screw or a chipped tooth on the bridge) in around 6% of cases (2026 review). An earlier systematic review found similar short-term results, while noting that follow-up in many studies was short (2017 review).

Long-term data from the clinic that developed the concept reports 98.8% of fixed bridges still in place after 10–18 years in the lower jaw (Maló et al., 2019); because it comes from the originating clinic, it is best read alongside the independent reviews.

Which one might suit you

  • All-on-4 often suits patients whose bone has shrunk at the back of the jaw, who want to avoid grafting, and who want fixed temporary teeth within days of surgery.
  • All-on-6 is often chosen when there is enough bone for more implants and extra support is wanted, for example with a strong bite.
  • Individual implants suit patients with good bone along the arch who prefer separate teeth, and can accept more implants and often a longer timeline.

The deciding factor is your CBCT scan: it shows how much bone there is and where. At Sterling, full-arch implant treatment is led by Dr. Tarun Kumar Giroti, who trained in All-on-4 and immediate function with Dr. Paulo Maló in Lisbon.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between All-on-4 and All-on-6?+

Both replace a full arch with one fixed bridge. All-on-4 uses four implants, with the back two often angled to use the available bone; All-on-6 uses six implants for extra support when there is enough bone.

How long does All-on-4 last?+

Research reports about 98% implant survival at five years or more, and long-term studies show most bridges still in place after a decade. Results depend on the patient, care and check-ups.

Can I get fixed teeth the same day with All-on-4?+

Often, yes. A fixed temporary bridge is usually fitted soon after surgery, with the final bridge later. Your surgeon confirms this after your scan.

How much is All-on-4 at Sterling?+

At Sterling, a full arch is ₹3,50,000–6,00,000 per jaw, depending on the number of implants, the material, guided surgery and grafting. Your written quote, given after a CBCT scan, confirms what is included.
